Experience the art and science of play with IONiX by GameTime

The exploration of art provides children opportunities to discover creativity, self-expression, emotions and innovation. Simply being able to appreciate the visual aesthetics around them is important to spark a child’s imagination.

GameTime, the leading manufacturer of commercial playground and outdoor fitness equipment, is offering art through a child’s eyes with the introduction of IONiX. With bold, modern styling and play features exclusive to GameTime, kids, parents and grandparents alike are praising the IONiX commercial playground line as a beautiful community art installation!

A team of GameTime designers and engineers leveraged nearly a century of play research to create this outdoor modern work of art, which provides an exciting, ground-level accesible play system to promote active and imaginative play. The sweeping lines and organic shapes create a bold and elegant centerpiece within a park. It’s also a visual representation of the science of life; with shapes and patterns representing the design elements found in DNA.

The hallmark of the IONiX design is the Helix Tower with ShadowPlay panels (pictured below). This interactive climbing system features multiple routes of travel as children climb up, down, in and around the structure. Nearly 21 feet above the ground is the vibrant, translucent ShadowPlay Canopy that captures sunlight and bathes the play area with the seven colours of the rainbow.

“The colourful shadows from the panel really help promote sensory integration for kids of all abilities and set it apart from ordinary playgrounds,” said Play! Sales Associate Victoria Plett. “Because of its unique artistic element, the IONiX playspace becomes a local landmark for everyone in the community to enjoy.”
