GTfit Takes the Gym Outdoors

  • Monday, 31 March 2014

Line of outdoor fitness equipment designed to halt increasing obesity rates by getting locals exercising together in the great outdoors

GameTime, North America’s leading manufacturer of commercial playgrounds, custom play spaces and outdoor fitness equipment, has unveiled its uniquely designed GTfit outdoor fitness equipment, offering community members the chance to get moving towards achieving their own personal health and fitness goals.

The threefold GTfit line features the GTfit Base Series, GTfit Advanced Series and the GTfit Elite Series, all equipped with an array of products to choose from, each catering to a community's individual allotted land space, budget and health and wellness needs.

The GTfit Advanced Series includes all the familiar equipment seen in your local gym such as the Elliptical, Lat Pulldown and Leg Press, yet designed with a sleek, compact look to maximize the outdoor space and blend in with the natural environment.

Everyone from young teenagers to senior citizens can benefit from using the GTfit Elite Series, which includes a training area complete with Trapeze Rings, Climbing Wall, Fitness Rack and more. The GTfit Base Series is a hit with parents, offering a complete fitness program conveniently located in plain view of the playground so they can keep an eye on their children while getting in a full body workout.

To ensure the products provide a well-rounded fitness program for both individuals and communities alike, GameTime relied on experts in the field of exercise science to be an integral part of the research and development. Dr. Gary Liguori, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Health and Human Performance at the University of Tennessee, offered the GTfit series his professional seal of approval.

“Incorporating all four elements of fitness [aerobic, muscle, core, balance/flexibility] is critical for overall health and well-being. GTfit products provide a functional way to integrate all four elements into a well-balanced fitness program,” said Liguori, in an interview with GameTime. “They are durable, well-made and can be installed in almost any public space to introduce a solution for community wellness.”

Play! by Crozier, a division of Crozier Enterprises, is a proud distributor of the exclusive GTfit Series. Play! staff are eager share the many positives that come from adding a GTfit installation to a community.

“The benefits of a GTfit outdoor fitness park extend beyond the obvious health and wellness advantages,” said Play! sales associate and OPA playground & accessibility practitioner Eric Nadeau. “By being outdoors, you get more than you do in a gym- it’s a great way to take in the fresh air and socialize with members of your community.”
